CENSORED is an emerging South African brand established in 2018 by Sarah-Jane Share. The brand specializes in design activism by using fashion as a tool to create awareness around social issues. Each collection that Censored creates focuses on a different topic within the activist field, such as sexual assault, women’s rights and feminism.
The brands aesthetic incorporates a dark, moody approach to fashion blended with a sensual undertone of feminine empowerment. The brand philosophy focuses on pushing the boundaries of design activism and engaging consumers in a conversation about societal issues, seeking to answer the question of how we can use fashion for good.
