At CTCFD we value giving back to the community and encourage students to become involved as much as possible. Throughout 2023, CTCFD has participated in a baby blanket drive for the Mowbray Maternity Hospital for mothers in need. This has been a continuous outreach since 2022, where students provided each new mother with Kangaroo Mother Care wraps.
In 2023 this drive has extended into baby blankets, which all students – from our Foundation Fashion Design programme to Diploma third year, have participated in. Each week students allocate time to cut, sew and package each blanket ready to be delivered to Mowbray Maternity Hospital. For Mandela Day we were able to donate countless baby blankets to new mothers and will continue for the rest of the year.
